TABI-1800 Wildfire Airborne Strategic Mapping Operations Underway

Calgary, June 15, 2011 – In the first test of it’s capabilities for forest wildfire mapping, ITRES’ new Thermal Airborne Broadband Imager (TABI-1800) is being used to assist Alberta Sustainable Resource Development (SRD) with fighting active wildfires in the province’s North. This new imager recently underwent field trials over SRD’s Cache Percotte Grid operational test site to prove its capabilities in detecting fire hotspots and in rapid data turnaround to field-ready fire mapping products.

Within a very short two-week window, this field evaluation was completed and the TABI immediately put into active operational service against two of the largest fires burning in the province. Read More

CASI-1500i Delivered to INTA Spain Airborne Remote Sensing Facility

Calgary, April 14, 2009 – To upgrade its hyperspectral VNIR imaging capability, INTA has chosen ITRES’ proven CASI technology. The delivery of a high-performance, customized CASI-1500i was made to the National Institute for Aerospace Technology in Madrid, Spain. As a vertically-integrated sensor developer, ITRES customized the proven CASI-1500 based on INTA’s technical request to embed a precision POS AV IMU inside the imager’s head. The goal is to further improve geopositional accuracy in the processed imagery from the high resolution CASI-1500i.

Calgary, July 7, 2008 – ITRES is pleased to announce the sale of a new Advanced Hyperspectral Imaging System (AHIS) to the Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology (BRIUG) of Beiijing.

This sale, arranged through Eastimeimage of Beijing (www.eastimeimage.com) marks one of the first commercial hyperspectral imaging systems to have been exported to a Chinese company. BRIUG will be using the AHIS, with its VNIR/SWIR imaging capability, primarily for geological and mineral exploration within China. Owing to this imaging system’s extended applications capabilities, the organization is also planning to utilize it for applications in forestry, the environment, and urban planning. Read More

Active Hyperspectral Imaging System Delivered to Forestry Company

Calgary, June 12, 2008 – Airborne hyperspectral imager manufacturer ITRES Research Limited today announced the delivery of one of its high-performance VNIR CASI-1500 imagers integrated with an ALTM Gemini Lidar from Optech Incorporated to the Forest Owners Consulting Center (FOCC) based in Cēsis, Latvia. This northern European company plans to use their performance system initially for single tree forest inventories, an application for which both instruments, especially the wide array CASI-1500, are ideally suited. ITRES has demonstrated the commercial ability of the CASI to perform accurate forestry stem counts and forest health classifications, with over 120,000 ha of forests imaged by the CASI since 1996.
